From Campus to Open Fields: A Boston Pre-Wedding Story at Northeastern & Larz Anderson Park
Some stories are meant to unfold slowly.
Without a timeline, without expectations—just light, movement, and the space to create something intentional. This session at Larz Anderson Park was exactly that: an editorial pre-wedding shoot designed to feel effortless, romantic, and quietly cinematic.
What Is a Pre-Wedding Session
A pre-wedding session is a styled photoshoot where couples wear wedding attire before their wedding day. Unlike traditional wedding coverage, there’s no schedule to follow—allowing for more time, more flexibility, and a more editorial approach to each moment.
It remains rooted in a documentary approach, while creating space for images that feel more personal and aesthetically driven.
Some stories begin where everything first started.
For Claire and Yezi, that place was Northeastern University—where they met, and where their story quietly took shape.
Returning to campus felt less like a photoshoot, and more like revisiting something familiar. The architecture, the open quads, the in-between spaces—they carried a sense of memory, grounding the beginning of the session in something personal and real.
From City to Landscape
From the structure of the city, the day shifted into something softer.
Leaving campus, we moved to Larz Anderson Park, where everything began to open up—the space, the light, the atmosphere.
Larz Anderson Park offers a different kind of setting—wide, quiet, and almost understated. The landscape allows everything to slow down, creating space for movement, pauses, and subtle moments to unfold naturally.
The light here wraps gently, especially toward the end of the day, giving the images a softness that feels both natural and refined.
For Couples Drawn to Something Personal
This kind of pre-wedding session is especially meaningful for couples who want to incorporate places that matter—whether it’s where they met, or somewhere that reflects how they want their story to feel.
It’s not about recreating a wedding day.
It’s about creating something intentional, personal, and quietly expressive.
